Differential Service
What is Grease Monkey's Differential Service?
The old and contaminated gear oil is removed from the differential
gear box. We replace it with new gear oil that contains the correct
additives to help keep the gear cases operating properly.
What are the benefits of a Differential Service?

- Minimizes the effects of oxidation deterioration due to heat and
high speed driving
- Reduces wear and spalling (gear flaking)

What is the Differential?
The differential allows wheels to turn at different speeds, enabling
corner turning with improved traction. The differential gears are
lubricated with a fluid that carries heat away from them, thereby
preserving their life and performance. Most four wheel drive cars have
both a front and rear differential.
How often should a differential service be
performed?
Grease Monkey recommends this service in accordance with the car
manufacturer's service intervals, or as a special circumstances require,
such as water contamination. Your Grease Monkey manager will check the
resource manual specifically for your car's recommended service
requirements.
